Ultra-compact subsea holographic camera

In partnership with the University of Aberdeen, Hi-Z 3D played a pivotal role in developing a groundbreaking miniature underwater holographic camera. This lightweight device incorporates a depth sensor for environmental information, a pulsed laser to capture even the fastest-moving particles, and the capability to be deployed on an umbilical cable or operate autonomously. When operated in autonomous mode the camera is capable of recording and storing hundreds of thousands of holograms of marine particles. When connected to the umbilical, it can harness the FPGA Holographic Processing Unit for immediate hologram reconstruction, delivering real-time imagery of the captured particles.

This collaboration underscores Hi-Z 3D’s strength in advancing technology, benefiting not only marine research but also contributing to the broader evolution of cutting-edge solutions.
